SBC has developed an integrated research and cultivation ecosystem that supports the entire microalgae development pipeline.
Step 1 - Laboratory Research
Scientists culture and study microalgae strains, focusing on:
- Strain improvement
- Productivity optimisation
- Biomass enhancement
- Application testing
Step 2 - Controlled Scale up
Selected strains are cultivated in photobioreactor systems, including an 81 m² facility, where indoor cultures are acclimatised under controlled conditions.
Step 3 - Outdoor Production
Once stabilised, strains are transferred to outdoor cultivation systems such as the 1,000 m² Algae Cultivation Facility, allowing production at a larger scale.
This gradual scaling process bridges the gap between scientific discovery and industrial production.
