The Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) will host its upcoming Sarawak Biodiversity Insights: featuring Sarawak’s Nature Discovery by Bruce Teo, on 24th July 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The hybrid session will be open to participants both online via Zoom and in person.
The talk will be presented by Bruce Teo, a distinguished wildlife photographer, cinematographer, and licensed nature guide whose work documents the remarkable biodiversity of Borneo’s tropical rainforests. With extensive experience in the field and collaborations with local and international conservation organisations, Bruce brings a compelling perspective on Sarawak’s natural heritage through wildlife photography and visual storytelling.
During the session, Bruce will take participants on an engaging journey into the heart of Sarawak’s ancient tropical rainforests. The talk will highlight the ecological importance of these ecosystems, including their role in sustaining biodiversity, maintaining the balance of natural systems, and supporting human well-being. Participants will also gain insights into the fascinating behaviours of wildlife, the hidden wonders of rainforest ecosystems, and the close relationship between nature and humanity.
Through vivid images, personal encounters, and conservation stories, the session will underscore the importance of protecting Sarawak’s unique natural heritage and promoting responsible environmental stewardship. Beyond showcasing the beauty of wildlife, the talk aims to inspire curiosity, strengthen environmental awareness, and encourage individuals to play an active role in biodiversity conservation. It is suitable for students, researchers, educators, government agencies, and members of the public who wish to better understand why conserving Sarawak’s rich biodiversity is a shared responsibility for present and future generations.
Participation is free and open to all. Participants may register via Zoom at https://qrco.de/SBCTALK , secure a seat for physical attendance via https://qrco.de/bfbhmk , or watch the event live on SBC’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/sarawak.biodiversity.centre.
